With brevity--things in the Parenthetical world are looking beautiful and bleak in equal measure: the (((GRRRLS))) record is finally in the process of being pressed to CD for the first time (Digitally [c]Remastered!), with Jherek's "O Mix" on the disc itself, and Jamie's "X Mix" featured as high quality MP3s in an enhanced format. Additionally, the disc will feature the track "Inspirational Shortpants (avec paroles)," a brand new, "finished" version of "Inspirational Shortpants." The street date is April 25th, but hopefully I'll have the Slender Means Society website up, operational, and ready to mail order by February. Finally. Additionally, the little Zacs on the CD seem a lot less creepy to me than the big Zacs on the LP.
Additionally, Parenthetical Girls' sophomore album, entitled Safe As Houses, is completely finished with the exception of mastering. Ten tracks, innumerable solos, and a little less echoplex. Also: very depressing. It should be released on Slender Means Society sometime in April.
I really have no idea when we will be able to tour behind any of these developments, as the extended family is pretty extenuated until Summer time--there are minor hopes for a trip 'cross the Atlantic before then, but those hopes seem to be dwindling by the day. God, I want to get out of Portland. Anybody want to be my band?
cordially,
zac
p.s.--I know I never update this thing, and that it's fucked up for most everyone but Safari users, but does anyone actually ever read this? Not pandering--just curious.
